Working with different people and moving to various places to do so, she poses the question throughout her dynamic oeuvre, “What connects us to the living world and to each other?”, and concludes, “we have plants in common”.\nPlants shelter us and nourish us. They generously provide food that sustains us and cleverly create a landscape that wraps protectively around us offering constant inspiration. Vanasse is highly attuned to the intricate cycle of life and to change wafted in by the seasons. She seeks to grab hold of the fleeting, to feel the shifting breeze and to imprint the beautiful patterns of plants using a highly inventive and varied toolkit, which includes drawing, photography, sculpture, textiles, botanical dying techniques, printmaking and foraging.\nIn honour of the rich, diverse and ever flowing fabric of nature, Vanasse points others towards the rhythm of growth and circular energy that she depicts in her art and lives by in day to day activities. Within traditional exhibition hangs, educational settings, immersive/ interactive environments, and even in her own kitchen, she playfully suggests – and offers starting points to help – that her audience do not delay, that they fully inhale the day ahead and make connections with every living element.\n
