Please ring first if you need to see me as I am not always in the studio.
My first studio was in Horwich, close to Rivington where I lived, hence the name. I came to Cedar Farm in 2005 and my studio is now well established in the art@cedarfarm building.
In my studio you will find all kinds of handmade, collectable, decorative and functional ceramics including vases, bowls, mugs, teapots, coasters, ceramics on canvas wall hangings, porcelain motif greeting cards, porcelain heart gifts and much more.
I specialise mainly in Stoneware and Raku, but my work encompasses pottery as a whole. I use many different making processes including throwing, coiling, slab building, press moulding and casting, formulating my own slips and glazes from the raw ingredients to give a unique quality and finish to the pieces.
Inspiration is derived mainly from the natural environment; the changing seasons, sunrise and sunset, clouds and lightning, petals, seeds and peeling bark and the colours and textures of the landscape, sometimes seemingly impressionist, especially at dusk and dawn.
I also exhibit my work in galleries throughout the UK and sell at large ceramics festivals and association events. I am a member of:
The Northern Potters Association
The Craft Potters Association
The Art & Craft Guild of Lancashire
