At the heart of Cedar Farm are the shops and cafe. Housed in sympathetically converted farm buldings and surrounding a beautiful stone courtyard is an unrivalled selection of independent shops run by people with a passion for what they sell.

The Gallery offers a selection of the best of British crafts and artist' materials, Etcetera stocks distinctive branded womens' clothing and a wide range of unusual scarves bags and jewellery, and Anise is definitely the place to go for mystic or quirky presents. Delicious smells waft from the Food Shop where homemade takeaways and other additive free goodies are cooked on the premises. The latest addition to this collection of shops is the Potting Shed, whose staff dispense friendly advice along with plants and other garden treats, which spill out into the courtyard where you can sit in the sun and enjoy a coffee or meal from the Cafe.

The Cafe has established itself as an integral part of the Lancashire 'foodie' trail with it's locally sourced produce all cooked in its' own kitchen, people travel miles for one of Lucy's famous meringues or a bowl of her fabulous homemade soup.
